Mentally strong people often have personality traits that help them cope with life’s challenges. These include:

Self-awareness - They are aware of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviour, and they can regulate their responses to people, situations and events with thought rather than simply reacting

Self-compassion - They don't blame others, and they are able to learn from their mistakes

Adaptability - They can creatively work with challenges to find new paths, and they are open to exploring new possibilities. If they fall at the first hurdle they won’t give up. Instead, they’ll reflect, learn and try again

Optimism - They confront facts directly and avoid dwelling on negatives

Risk-taking - They assess risks and make informed decisions, and they are willing to take calculated risks

Do any of these traits sound familiar?
